I have been laying in bed for the past two hours, trying to go to sleep.
I have been literally tossing and turning (and mostly because I am so sunburnt and I can’t stick to one side, hehe).
But mostly my mind is tossing and turning.
I started laying here and thinking about all that is going on in my life right now. These past two weeks, I have had the opportunity of seeing life in a different perspective, yet again. And let me tell you, there is nothing I enjoy more than seeing life in a different perspective. I think I have been through this process about 10 times within the last 10 months, but there is nothing more refreshing… even if it may not be your favored perspective, I believe that having the ability to see (or at least try to see) all of life’s different perspectives is what makes a person open-minded. I also believe open-minded people are the happiest types of believe. And if there is something that we need less of in this world, it is closed-minded people. People that believe there is only one right way to do things.
Sorry, I got a little off topic.
These past two weeks I have seen a different perspective on life.
It’s a perspective that really emphasizes the importance of being patient. It taught me that you’re never going to understand certain situations and why they happened right away. Ever heard the phrase “only time will tell”? That’s the foundation of this perspective. I have learned that we don’t need to make every “life changing” situation into a bad one. A lot of life changing decisions or situations are scary to people because we don’t like change. We are scared of it. That’s why we make most of them in a negative situation. We don’t like waking up and not knowing what will happen and I believe if most of us could have a sheet each day that will tell us what life changing event could occur so we could prevent it, I think over 75% of the population would choose to do that. Honestly, we just don’t like surprises. We like knowing and being aware. We want things to go smoothly… you get my point.
The past two weeks, I have been able to understand and see that everything that happens, happens for a reason. I don’t believe in coincidences. I believe that I am supposed to be where I am right now in life for a reason. I am supposed to be right here on this computer, and you are supposed to be here reading this. Maybe it is supposed to help you get through something, or maybe it is to help you see life in a different perspective, I don’t know. But what I do know, is to never question what may seem questionable or what we don’t understand. I didn’t understand a lot of things happening in my life. But recently, God has shown me that yet again, He is never wrong.
I believe that certain people come into your life for a reason. Whether those people stay in your life forever, or only stay there for a brief amount of time, I think each person will create some sort of lesson for you, to make you a stronger and better person.
I think the greatest example in my life right now is where I currently work.
I work at a daycare.
I never expected to work there. Or at any daycare to be completely honest.
But let me tell you that I work with some absolutely incredible people. I look forward to working with them everyday because they make everyday so easy for me. I don’t know that there is a day that goes by that I haven’t smiled or laughed about 20 different times. It is life changing for me because it has filled so many holes in my heart, and those holes have been filled with happiness. 4 months ago when I got this job, I would never imagine I would feel the way I do about it, as I do today. (If any of the people I work with are reading this…. YOU ROCK!!)
Anyways, back to the point of all this.
Don’t be so quick to jump to conclusions. Trust me, I am the best at that. But it’s a very very dangerous thing to do and it’s something I am trying so hard to stop doing.
Trust the process. If it hasn’t ended in something good, that it’s not over yet. Learn to be optimistic. You might not be the best you will be today, but believe that tomorrow you are one step closer to better things.
